The Prelude Academy is a very special conducting course for four traditionally underserved groups of conductors: novice conductors searching for an outstanding, inexpensive first workshop; music educators who wish to improve their conducting skills in a safe, supportive environment, student conductors preparing for graduate conducting study and experienced conductors preparing for competitions or professional auditions.

Up to 12 conductors will join renowned pedagogue Maestro Charles Gambetta, creator of the revolutionary Laban inspired Embodied Conducting™ method, for 10 days of intensive study, practice and performance on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea in historic, scenic Kiato, Greece.

Participating conductors receive 150+ minutes of podium time with professional string quintet and piano composed of musicians from the Bacau Philharmonic including:

6 fifteen-minute instructional sessions,
6 10-minute instructional sessions,
1 15 to 25-minute general rehearsal,
1 10 to 15-minute public performance

plus 30 minutes of video review with faculty, an audition/competition prep masterclass, score study, musicianship and daily Embodied Conducting™ instruction.
